The cardiac ultrasound (echocardiography) program at Cardinal Tech prepares the student for a career as an integral part of the healthcare team. Our 9-month program is a hybrid of online didactics and on-site lab intensives, along with simulator training - the likes of which are used at top hospitals and educational institutions such as Massachusetts General Hospital, UCLA Health, Duke University, Northwestern University, and Stanford University to name a few. We also require an externship portion after the didactic portion is complete. Most students finish within a 12-16 month period.
Graduates may accept jobs in hospitals, physician practices, mobile services and laboratories. Experienced cardiac sonographers may enjoy positions as managers, researchers, educators, or with equipment manufacturers.
